New Paint Products!

According to Golden Artist Colors…

2 oz Heavy Body Acrylics

The new 2 oz. Heavy Body Acrylics Paint is “pure pigments in a 100% acrylic emulsion vehicle, these colors offer excellent permanency and lightfastness. There are no fillers, extenders, opacifiers, toners or dyes added. Colors that tolerate higher pigment loads dry to a more opaque, matte finish. Colors that are more reactive and do not accept high pigment loading dry to a glossy finish and are more transparent.”

The viscosity and consistency of the paint is described by them as “exceptionally smooth, rich,

buttery consistency. These paints have the ability to "stand up" and retain brush strokes or palette knife marks on the canvas.”

“All HB colors are thixotropic in nature. This means that when brushing or stirring, the paints actually lose viscosity and feel much thinner. The faster the paints are moving, the thinner they feel. Returned to a state of rest, the paints gradually increase in thickness until they are again restored to their formulated viscosity.”

Don’t you just love having something that no one else has!? It kind of makes you feel important, and sometimes shamefully even better then everyone else! It’s kind of sad; but we all know it’s the truth! So here’s the deal…Creative Crafts and Frame Shop has products from this new company! Their website isn’t even live yet! We are only one of a few who have their products right now!

The company is Authentique Paper. Cute name, huh!? As you can probably tell, it revolves around craft paper, like scrapbooking paper collections. They are so cute! I have put in some pictures of their collection pieces. I think they are all precious and so fun to work with! Lots of projects can be happening with Authentique Paper products (besides just scrapbooking!)!

From their Facebook page I got some pictures, and their website should be working soon, but like I said, we have their products in store now! You must come by and check them out!

Feather Frenzies!

What would you think of if someone asked for you to put feathers in your hair to wear? If you asked my several months ago, I would have said I don’t want to look like Steven Tyler! But have you seen one of the latest trends? It’s wearing feathers in your hair! And trust me, it’s not the Steven Tyler kind of feathers! These feathers are super cute!

So, if you haven’t had a feather extension yet, you might have a few questions. First, the feather trend started in Colorado. The feathers come from a certain breed of roasters. The biggest grower of these birds in a farm in Colorado where a lot of fly fishing takes place…the feathers have always been used for fly fishing, until recently when girls starting putting them in their hair!

The feathers are inserted into your hair and secured by a clamp. It is completely safe for your hair and safe if you have hair extensions already.

The feathers are also safe for when you wash your hair, straighten it with a flatiron, roll it with hot rollers, or curl it with a curling iron. However, you wear your hair, the feather will work right along with it!

A Timeless Collection

New stuff!? Yes we love new stuff too! Here are some awesome new things we have…

From the loved BoBunny products, we have a new collection. It is so cute and is very versatile. The new collection of paper is called the Timeless Collection…pictured below.

The Timeless Collection uses deep, rich, and inviting colors. It is great for family pictures! The clocks that on the paper within the collection are so cute and add just the right touch!

Another cute way to use this paper collection if you don’t scrapbook is to frame it. You can put a 4x6 or 5x7 picture (tape it or glue it) on to the paper and then frame the picture with the paper in a large frame. This is a really cute idea and look fabulous! Try it!

Organization made fun!

Summer is here! There is no denying it…kids are out of school and vacation plans are in the making! For me summer is when I start thinking that things need to be reorganized and cleaned up. We have the cutest project that is fun, simple, and will help you get everything organized! Sounds like a good deal to me!

Creative Crafts and Frame Shop are now carrying the 9-Drawer Storage Unit from Kaiser Craft. You can make these fit your personality and style and put as much decorating into it, as you want. It is very easy…all you need are a few things to get started.

1.) 9-Drawer Storage Unit

2.) Your favorite scrapbook paper collection

3.) Paint (a color that matches you paper)

4.) Labels or stickers or plaques (for the front of each box)

5.) Adhesive

The first thing to do is paint the top and sides of the box. Set aside to dry and while they are drying you can start cutting out the paper, for the front of the drawers and the side of the shelving.

Choose a paper that you want to cover the outside of your shelving unit with and cut it to be a rectangle (10.75cm wide by 22.5cm high).

The second thing to cut is the paper for each drawer. The hardest part is to choose each paper for the drawers! It can be sooo hard! Each drawer needs two cuts. The first piece is a rectangle 7cm high by 12 cm wide. The second piece should be 7cm wide by 30.5cm high (this is the height of the paper).

Be sure and make each of the corners very neat with the wrapping of the paper. By placing your name plate (the stickers, labels, plaques…be fun and get creative!) you are almost ready to get your organization done!

You can also get cute pearls, beads, or sparkles to put on each side of the label. Want to add knobs?...Go for it!

Scrap-booking Paper into Something New!

Dry Erase DIY

Creative Crafts and Frame Shop has some of the cutest scrapbooking paper! And guess what!?...We have new designs and collections! J This just really makes me happy!

But there is something else that just really makes me happy! I love using things from the craft and coming up with a new use for it! This works perfect alongside the new designs in scrapbooking paper we have. You only need a couple of things…

A picture frame (8 ½ X 11 or larger)

Your favorite collection of scrapbook paper

Ribbon, wire, or rope (optional)

A dry erase marker

This project is so easy! Take out your picture frame and insert whatever design of paper is your favorite. If you would like to hang your picture frame on the wall or anywhere besides having it seat on something, you can add either ribbon, rope, or wire to make it match the room you

have it.

Now that that is done, take your dry erase marker and write a message right onto the glass…you know have an adorable dry erase board that you customized with your new favorite scrapbooking paper collection from Creative Crafts and Frame Shop!

Duck Tape is now available in camoflage and tie dye. Duck Tape Wallet project sheets instructions are on hand at Creative Crafts. It would make a good Father's Day gift.

We have Giant Marshmellows. Any kids dream come true in front of the fire on a camping trip. These marshmellows would make a good craft for kids at a birthday party decorating them with frosting . Of course most of the frosting would probably be eaten before the marshmellow was decorated, but that's half the fun.

New Item for us this year. Geo Mesh or Deco Poly Mesh. Comes in 10 yd rolls and is 21" wide. There are so many different options to decorating with Geo Mesh: wreaths & arches are just two ideas. Lights can be added for extra twinkle.

We have on order several colors for Fall and Christmas. Plan to come in a see how we will be decorating the store, because Geo-Mesh will be everywhere.
